Beating out veteran hits such as Breaking Bad and Dexter, Showtime’s new hit drama, Homeland, has been nominated for the Golden Globe award for Best Drama Series. In addition, Claire Daines, who plays CIA operations officer Carrie Mathison, was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series and Damian Lewis, who plays American Marine Nicholas Brody, was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Homeland is an American psychological thriller television series from the Executive Producers of 24, based on the Israeli series, Prisoners of War created by Gideon Raff. The series stars Claire Danes as a CIA operations officer who has come to believe that an American Marine, who was held captive by Al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war, was turned by the enemy and now poses a significant risk to national security.
