ID NC Supports Drumstrong in cancer research

Posted on July 24, 2017

In May 2007, the Swimmer Family created DRUMSTRONG after their son Mason was diagnosed with bone cancer to avail an all-inclusive, totally participatory activity for all abilities (the runs, walks, cycling, etc. events can preclude those who may be debilitated). Everybody can ‘bang’ on something and make a collaborative joyful noise to soundly impact the health of the community.
Today, over 70 cities in 25+ countries participate (simultaneously) supporting cancer survivorship, education and research in their local communities as well.
The home base for DRUMSTRONG is Charlotte, NC which is also where the good folks at Illumination Dynamics pitch in every year since inception to bring power and light to the 24 hour (sometimes longer!) non-stop rhythm event. Not only does this allow for a phenomenal local event but the webcast is seen and participated in around the world impacting thousands positively.
“It is this type of heartfelt and selfless offer that keeps the pulse of our mission ever moving forward. ID has always gone well beyond the ‘call of duty’ for us and we are forever grateful. We could not accomplish the overwhelming benefits to our local (and global) community without them.” – Scott Swimmer, founder and organizer.
